Call from Apple

Yesterday, I received a call from Apple regarding my broken MacBook Pro. A really nice woman from the Executive Relation department in Ireland reached out to me to discuss the problems I’m having with it.

Though I believe she did try to help, Apple hasn’t acknowledged that 2011 MacBook Pros were loosely assembled, and therefore they haven’t started a replacement program… at least not yet. So, at the end of the call, I found myself thinking “What a lovely girl to talk with, she is real nice… although she just confirmed me that Apple refuses to fix my laptop”.

I do wonder how they measured the big negative PR impact that this problem must be causing them. Right now, that thread only has 3.300 responses and 307.174 views!

I have no doubt they’d be better off doing what is right, accepting they actually screwed up with the GPUs, and taking care of the replacements.

So, Apple, let me put it bluntly. You can put lipstick on a pig, but it’s still a pig. I’m utterly disappointed on both the supposed robustness of my laptop, and specially on how you are trying to dodge the issue. I expected more. Much more.
